Just returned from a wonderful two week trip to Thailand with my mom. The full photo album is up on my Instagram, but here are some highlights. Traveling is challenging wardrobe-wise, since you’re forced to pack few items and see what happens with “outfits” when you get there. I loved the trip. We went to Ko Phi Phi, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok. Here are a few things I wore.
Vintage Modus Vivendi shirt (made in Greece) I found thrifting in Denver. Blenders eyewear polarized glasses are great for traveling since they’re lightweight and not too expensive so I’m never too stressed out about taking great care of them.
Purchased this fun unicorn shirt at Chatuchak market in Bangkok. I was impressed by how many local small designers were represented. Bought this Thai Hmong style skirt at a street stall near Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai. Railcar tote bag is perfect for traveling. GiBlack abarcas are still my favorite warm weather shoe; I traveled with both the black and the taupe this trip.
Chaco shoes are really great for travel and beaches. They have good traction and cloth straps. I’ve had these black flip flops for years and they’re holding up! Baggu’s duck bag in canvas is a trusty travel partner too. Loving wearing a crochet/lace look dress (a gift from my aunt) and no-brand muumuu dress that I ripped into a cardigan mid-boat trip for added function (originally from a thrift store in Denver).
Brixton hat (a sample I bought from a rep- not sure if this style was produced or where sold). Midori Bikinis Mau Loa top, Tyler Rose bikini bottom I found on eBay last summer. I love swimsuits and prefer suits from smaller companies who specialize in swimwear- the quality difference is clear. These two companies use great thick and elastic fabric, have modern and flattering cuts, and wear really well.
Derek Lam Design International dress from Kohl’s. It’s a lightweight cotton, long sleeved dress and is the perfect beach travel piece.
Gap denim jacket, thrifted vintage silk shirt, 50 Dresses infinity cowl scarf, vintage Aerosoles boots, and the comfiest Ann Taylor purple pants. Even when traveling in warm places, I think it’s important to dress properly for air travel- no flip flops on the plane!
Thrifted white dress from H&M in front of the most beautiful vista of Ko Phi Phi.
Till next time, Thailand!
