Errand ready

20130717-115631.jpgI read an article once where Angelina Jolie talked about her favorite staple black dresses she would sleep in and then wear during the day. This Norma Kamali for Walmart racerback jersey number is exactly that. I am usually against jersey dresses (they always need a slip since they show everything), but when a morning involved trips to the hospital, trips to the vet, and watering in the garden, it comes to this. Also worn with H&M jacket, Blenders, and original Havaianas. I ordered the Brazilian flag emblazoned flip flops in 2003 FROM BRAZIL before the company even had US distribution. They are great for running errands.

Yes, I should be in Hawaii in this dress

Awesome floral Tracy Feith dress from his line for Target years ago. After making Michelle Obama’s favorite dress, his company shut down in 2011 and apparently he now works for Tom’s Shoes. He can work a bold pattern really well. It works well how the floral pattern fades to a solid orange on the sides of this dress. I’m carrying everything I need in my amazing Railcar Fine Goods tote I take everywhere! Vintage sand dollar scarf makes an appearance for the first time since March! I like big hair accessories to go with a puffy top knot. I love how a big bow on a head scarf sometimes looks like a flower, and dresses up messy and slightly dirty hair. Summer!

No, my other striped dress

50 Dresses chevron striped dress from last year worn with Sweet Pea ruffled black shirt underneath, vintage necklace, Barney’s New York Italian leather sandals, Tres Noir Ultra Lux sunglasses. The last (size L) of this dress in navy/white is hanging at the I Heart Denver store right now. I heart this dress- very comfortable, great pockets, good layering options.

Strappy strap straps

How many cut outs is too many cutouts? This dress walks the line. But I love it!! From Nasty Gal on sale last year. This was the first and last time I wore it like this- mixed feelings about the mullet hi-low hem led to cutting it short with the intention of wearing it tunic style with leggings? Not sure yet- stay tuned. Amazing Gentle Souls gladiator sandals available here, but I clearly did not pay that much for them! Got them for a steal at a sale here in Denver last year but they must have been good sellers since I see them for sale again this year. They are very comfy. Mayle bag- I covet this- it is my sister’s. Brixton sample hat, vintage jewelry. YAY SUMMER!

I was asked to style two looks for a 303 Magazine Advanced Screening of “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s” last week. Read about it here. I dressed the girls (Hali and Kia from Donna Baldwin) in all vintage from my collection/my sister’s collection/my mom’s collection. It was a blast! I wore my fave Zara heels, and a 50 Dresses original one-shoulder dress I made a couple of years ago. Ida Pennymon (Pennymon Presents), my 50 Dresses PR Manager, is wearing a lace 50 Dresses dress from this season too!
