Showed 50 Dresses Fall 2013 at a great benefit event this weekend called Urban Nights for Urban Peak. I wore a 50 Dresses leopard and lace long dress, Bethany Cosentino for Urban Outfitters white jacket, Rodarte for Target leopard bow belt, black flats from Argentina. My cute sister wore Miu Miu heels, a 50 Dresses dress, and Gap jacket.
50 Dresses leopard dress with lace inset on the front. I have been working with versions of this dress for a while, and finally fished it out of the “finish later” pile. I love the stretch black lace at the front and how it balances the scoop back. It’s elastic at the waist and very comfortable. Sometimes I want to feel fancy and dressed up, but also as comfortable as if I was lounging in a muumuu. Actually sometimes that is the only way I will go out at night, so this dress is the solution.
I’m LOVING these new Jenni Kayne navy patent gladiator sandals (from last season, but found on eBay), but still coveting a pair of her d’orsay flats. S.W.O.R.D. leather jacket, Italian leather purse from my sister. Gold key-hole earrings from Nasty Gal. 50 Dresses leather hair tie wrap.
Awesome vintage lace shirt from the personal collection of the Style Crone. It’s a great creme shirt that has a lining (I tucked that part in), and a billowy lace overlay. Black pencil skirt from Ann Taylor last year. Perfect black heels from Zara– I want the orange version too! They are a great shape from all angles, make my legs look awesome, and are easy to walk in because of the ankle strap! Obsessed.
Brixton felted wool hat, S.W.O.R.D. leather jacket, Catherine Malandrino silk and lace tank, vintage silk scarf, Madewell jeans, vintage boots.
Vintage slip top and (bright orange!) bra, Rodarte for Target lace cardigan, Martin + Osa jeans, vintage boots. Rodarte for Target was one of the best and most high quality collaborations I’ve seen (and I’ve shopped them all since Luella for Target). This awesome cardigan also came in a nude and a mustard yellow (had that one and wore it out, boo). It’s mucky outside after a big snowstorm and I decided to rearrange the studio today, so it’s far from a glamorous day. Sometimes it helps to wear a little lace to boost the feminine spirit!
•When you miss lace shirts in winter (American Apparel), wear them over cashmere sweaters (Ann Taylor thrifted).
•Hold onto anything leopard for years (this hand rolled silk scarf is from Banana Republic AGES ago and I wear it every season, all the time).
•Very dirty hair + Suave Dry Shampoo = sexy awesome volume hair.
•When Pablo is sitting with his his little foot tucked underneath him in the perfect photo spot, get it! These things can’t be staged.
I love Valentine’s Day for the colors. Red, pink, creme, white, yes please. Found a great Eberjey red heart lace camisole at my favorite thrift store recently and I love it!! Gap pants (thrifted- great fit and color), 50 Dresses scarf. I’m having too much fun making a fringe bra for a “brauction” event this weekend. I’m seeing a lot of fringe in the future.
