Vintage Sequins

Vintage Ann Green silk and sequin top debuts at the Museum of Nature and Science’s star-gazing night. I loved this top and immediately categorized it as a “mermaid” top, but decided it looks “galaxy” too. Worn with wardrobe staples: Banana Republic coated black denim jeans, and my favorite black flats from Argentina years ago.

New boots!

GiBlack in NYC has some amazing new Spanish pony boots in stock now! Imported from amazing boot factories in Menorca, they are so comfortable and really very unique from the other fall offerings I’ve seen. Check out the FB page for photos of the boots (they have black too, as well as some other great styles!) or the website for more info. Yes, this is the same company importing my favorite ABARCAS! Spanish footwear, all the way. Worn with thrifted wool skirt and shirt and an awesome thrifted silk blazer/jacket.

Vintage West

I am inspired by and obsessed with the western & vintage vibe of Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent collection. Read more about Hedi here and here. I love him.

Vintage boots (eBay), Brixton hat (similar styles here), leather and gold lariat style necklace (Sumi’s in Silver Lake), Railcar high-waisted Donnas. Leppert Roos vintage fur and Mayle bag borrowed from my cool sister. And the cornerstone: I purchased this gorgeous vintage silk top from the personal collection of The Style Crone herself. I just love it so much!

Draped in Silks

20130325-153411.jpg20130325-153401.jpgAll vintage, all thrifted (except the tights): Louis Feraud skirt, Blanco silk striped blouse, Italian metallic tights, Etienne Aigner boots, silk scarf. Stripes + floral = I love it. MacKenzie McHale (Emily Mortimer) in HBO’s brilliant drama The Newsroom wears amazing silk button down shirts tucked into little skirts most of the season one. I feel like Mac today!
